Signs Around Our Home

Last Friday on the first day of summer vacation, I decided that we needed some sort of plan to get through the summer. The boys were fascinated by the signs that started popping up around the house.

Seems to be working at keeping both me and the kids more organized.

Super Nanny would be proud.

Every time someone asks if they can do computer or television, I simply say "Check the schedule"

Yes, there's more TV than is recommended, but with it off for over 7 hours in the day, I can justify. When I was little, I sat around all day, every day watching TV.

This is the plan for "school work" listed above. It as pretty cool that I took advantage of it yesterday and taught Noah how to do large math problems with carrying numbers.

They are both looking forward to craft day today

After a MAJOR battle with Son #1 about wiping once again last Friday, and again about washing his hands, I decided to put up a new sign in the bathroom.

He is still protesting (which I think is gross and don't understand what the big deal is), but he's doing it...all because the sign is telling him to.

I just wish he would do it because it is the sanitary thing.

I am quite sure more signs are going to start popping up as need be.

I am loving the schedule. It is making ME be honest as well and not letting me sit around in my pajamas. I have to be showered and dressed by the time they start school work at 9:00.

Their favorite thing on the schedule? The chore bucket if you can believe it.

I'm glad you found a great solution for your summer. I love that they like the chore bucket and everything seems to be working. Forget Super Nanny, you should be so proud!

Wow! I"m so impressed! WE haven't even thought about summer vacation yet, being as how it doesn't start until next week. I've been trying to come up with a plan this week.

I always have big plans to do this but it never really gets done. I have been trying to assign a chore each day. Nothing too big, but something to get them away from the tv while I'm at work. I know they still watch a lot of tv, but at least they've accomplished something as well.

Still, the house is always cluttered. Ugh!
