Aaron still takes a little more coaxing and after hearing the story once, he would rather "read" it himself most of the time.
Bedtime has always included books. When I am home for bedtime, we split them for one on one reading, which I think both of the boys cherish.
In the last few months, I have expanded things with Noah. Lately, I have had him read a book to me, and then I will read to him. I hope as he continues to grow as a reader, he will continue to enjoy being read to as well.
So as he was reading his book tonight, Aaron came running out from his bath and interrupting, so I told him that if he wanted to stay in the living room, he needed to join Noah and me on the couch. So up he climbed.
And soon he was interested as I helped Noah with a difficult word in the story
Until he finally gave up and snuggled up with his buddy Elmo to listenThis last one will be my favorite one for awhile. Have a great day!

How sweet that last picture is. I've always been envious of how well your kids have sat for stories. Mine were always one quick story and they were done. I worried that i wouldn't have readers. Thank God Alex has grown to love reading and now reads all the time. Now I just have to work on Dylan.
So cute! I am a big reader to my kids, too. With my eldest child, whom is now 1 month from turning 16, I would read to him after breakfast, after lunch, and after dinner. He was reading on his own, with no actual lessons from me...just reading A LOT to him, by age 4. It was even funnier though, having family come over and watch a little 2 year old 'read' Dr. Seuss books to them. (he had actually memorized them from hearing them so often.) You are giving them the gift of books along with the gift of your precious time. You go, Mama!

Precious. Good times.
Those are great pictures especially the last one. I love reading to my kids too. Taylor is currently learning how to read and enjoys it very much. I hope she loves to read as she grows, it is a wonderful hobby to have.
